Kate Rowley - Artist's Profile

In 1983 Kate graduated from Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts with a BA Hons in Printed Textiles and Tapestry Weaving. She began her career selling print designs for fashion through agents, and worked in Rome and Paris. Since returning to the UK she has concentrated on furnishing print designs for curtaining, bedlinen, shower curtains, table cloths, beach towels, etc. Her designs have sold in the UK, America, Continental Europe, Australia, Japan and Korea. Clients include Tommy Hilfiger, Garnet Hill, Ludvig Svensson, Almedahls and IKEA.

She has recently created boat and harbour collages, some of which have been printed as posters in America. She has continued to develop this work and now sells it into galleries. She has also been painting flower gardens in acrylic on canvas. This work was recognised when she was selected for the North Devon Open art exhibition 2006, and received a bursary.
She now divides her time between painting and designing.
